Divine Play, painting for process

During the painting process anything is allowed to show up on the paper. As visions; angels, creatures, impressions, and archetypes appear.  I paint and I am changed. The vision is changed in me by painting it. Energy and surprise engage my sense of self as I connect to senses in the body, what feels good now. This painting is a process of uncovering pictures that I hold in my body and my energy system.

In process, as in present time, I am open to anything. I keep the paint brush moving. Creative energy flows, colors and shapes emerge onto the paper as an an expressed feeling or thought. Imagery isn't required; in this play like state a single blob of color can be a genuine healing experience.  I find I move between states of varying presence, shift to story, and back to emotion, then recall the body and process. It's all recorded in a painting, which means everything and nothing. It’s not about the end product but in unfolding the conscious awareness and revealing gifts along the way. By playful, focused engagement with the creative process, I can experience the excitement or trepidation of beginning, doubt and release, transformation, and joy of being in present time. Through it all I come to understand cycles of creativity in body, as a visceral energetic experience.

Active, healing meditation, allows focus and opportunity to observe the body and stay with feeling and insight. The act of p
ainting becomes an outlet and a release. When I paint in an atmosphere of playfulness and joy, of being in tune with myself, grounded by the brush and paints, focus returns to the body and
senses. I work without a plan, focused on principles of creative engagement. What feels right what color excites me. This is about learning to be in present time and of deepening to senses.
