There was a point when I just had it with the stalemate and the Republican party. Democrats are not looking much better to me. After the election I had a vision that showed me how in wishing to "take down" the Republicans, that I had bought into a movement that was actually weakening the government, resulting in current leadership problems rather than in diverse and humanitarian leadership.
Because I am an energy worker I was able to pull my energy out of that negative group vortex. And its reminded me of an ongoing look at the big picture energy behind how things happen on the planet. Vision is key. What vision do we hold, and how do we see ourselves in that vision?
I'm as disturbed by the right left mess, as anyone. I was raised by life long peace and civil rights activists. There's a picture here of right and wrong. But the truth is that at any given time there are people of all levels and beliefs on the planet. Sometimes we get all caught up in the struggles and give our power away (through violence and hate, and sometimes even through protest and opposition). We fail to see that we are all exploring truth and reality. When we accept the differences as part of the amazing diversity of culture, and of thought, then we can see more clearly where to put our own creative energy without needing to be in opposition to one another. Its a bit of an idealist rant, but there is power in recognizing our part int the oppositional quagmire.)
I love that activists take responsibility for the health of the earth and people and animals. It may not be all their problem, but we all live in the resulting clean or not so clean environment. We know there are consequences to our thoughts and actions. however, sometimes we don't realize we are putting our energy into the very thing we are protesting, just by protesting. I understand resistance is a step towards recognizing and owning our part in the creation out experience. When we own our energy as what we are showing up for and as, we heal, release and create change change.
It is those who are creating alternatives who are my heros. Challenges become solutions changes- the levels are changing we are becoming aware and moving forward, the earth is becoming the next phase of community with positive action we succeed. grass roots is when we find ways to harvest water from air, when we use plants to clean waterways when we create alternative energy vehicles, when we change out community so that we shelter to the homeless. When we see challenges or problems, own them and create a vision and walk into that vision, holding true to our creative potential. This is when we own our power. I see lots of youth join together into a movement toward community.
